What Customers Say About 1967-1970 (The Blue Album):

Once again, any half-serious fan needs to get the original albums, but the number of non-album singles and B-sides here make 'Blue' another essential album for all Beatles enthusiasts. One thing 'Blue' also demonstrates that 'Red' doesn't is the growing songwriting skills of George and Ringo.'Something' especially holds its own against any Lennon/McCartney track. As with 'Red', this is pretty much the complete package, with complete lyrics and various late 60's photographs. And while it's impossible to represent the sprawling White Album in a few songs, at least 'Back In The USSR', 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da' are well-known fan favourites from the album.Once again, the sheer number of brilliant songs that were merely album tracks highlights just how good The Beatles were.

This includes some of the band's most ambitious and varied music, from the psychadelia of 1967 to the back-to-basics rock of 1968-9. hold their own next to the big hits, and could easily have been released as A-sides themselves.Again, the album is rounded out by some key album tracks: 'With A Little Help From My Friends', 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds', the epic 'A Day In The Life' and the title track are obvious inclusions from 'Sgt Pepper'. 'Blue' kicks off from where 'Red' finished, covering the important songs from The Beatles' later career.

'Abbey Road' is correctly represented by 'Here Comes The Sun' and 'Octopus' Garden' in addition to the singles, while 'Across the Universe' and 'The Long And Winding Road' are obvious selections from 'Let It Be', even if they are the over-produced Spector versions. Five stars once again. Once again, the album does a fine job of collecting the hits, B-sides, and fan favourite album tracks from the period. All of the band's later singles are included; 'Strawberry Fields Forever', 'Penny Lane', 'All You Need Is Love', 'Hello Goodbye', 'Lady Madonna', 'Hey Jude', 'Get Back', 'John And Yoko', 'Something', 'Let It Be'.

There are also some very important B-sides here: songs like 'I Am The Walrus', 'Revolution', 'Don't Let Me Down' and 'Old Brown Shoe' (a lost classic).

I feel that this album sets the Beatles apart from all other bands on earth.Sincery,Keith If you like the Beatles, the Blue Album is a must have. This album has the songs that changed the Fab Four and showed the world just what type of Singer/Songwriters they really were.

The transition from the early 60's music to the less traditional rock that eventually defined the Beatles as a genre and not just a group. Along with the earlier collections, this is a must for Beatles fans.

For those who just don't like them, well, that's their opinion and that keeps things interesting if you truly in fact do not like the music. As for reviewing this CD, all the songs are great. But look at what happened with the releases of the 87 CDs. Not a bad one here. So, for those from back in the day, or someone looking for a set of songs to keep in the car for listening, this does the trick. Plus, this had the version of "Let It Be" with a different guitar solo than the LP version. First, a point of reference. When this was originally released, this was the only compilation of late '60's Beatles songs available. Now.

I am glad that many young people (those born 1980 or later) have embraced the Beatles for the musical legacy they left us. I guess Capitol did not want to tinker with the original product. This set (along with the Red Album) is a fine introduction for someone new to rock music. Hopefully this will encourage new listeners to further explore the works of John, Paul, George and Ringo, and bring a smile to the faces of those of us who were there back in the day. Of course. Maybe not, with all the CD's released since 1987. Could some extra tracks have been added. Perfect for the 8-track player and listening to in the car on long trips.

Should be familiar to all Beatles fans. I find it interesting to read the negative comments of Beatles and Stones CD's to see if I have been wrong all these years. All the songs here were played on the radio extensively (OK, maybe not "Old Brown Shoe") and that's why this was essential back in the day. Back in the day, it was hard to find some people who did not like the Beatles.

All Beatle albums are good. This album is not as good as the red album, but it is good enough to buy if your a beatles fan. There is alot of hits, but not as great as the red one.
